The site and analytics

Daily Econ does not provide accounts, comments, or payments, and does not ask visitors to enter names, email addresses, or telephone numbers on the site. Visit statistics use Cloudflare Web Analytics aggregation.

Cloudflare’s official documentation describes Web Analytics as using a beacon with the Performance API to measure page performance and visit flows. It can provide aggregate dimensions such as page views, visits, host, path, referrer, country, device type, browser, operating system, and navigation type. Daily Econ’s owner screen uses aggregate paths, referring sites, countries, devices, browsers, and time periods.

The owner screen does not store or display user accounts, raw IP addresses, raw User-Agent values, or per-person identifiers. It does not provide user-level or IP-level tracking.

Cookies and browser storage

Cloudflare’s official Web Analytics guidance says that its usage metrics do not use cookies or localStorage. If the Web Analytics collection or storage method changes, this policy will be reviewed and updated before the change is applied here.

Only when an owner signs in to the statistics screen, Daily Econ issues a stat_session cookie with HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=Strict attributes. It is a signed access session lasting no more than eight hours, not a visitor-analytics cookie. Logout deletes the cookie from the current browser. Because there is no server-side session store, a separately copied valid session value may remain usable until the session expires.

The site may separately use browser localStorage to remember a light or dark theme choice. This setting does not identify a visitor and is not sent to the statistics API.

Sampling and access period

Cloudflare’s official FAQ explains that beacon data from the most recent seven days can be treated differently from later, longer-term aggregated data, and that longer-term data may be aggregated to around 10%. The official Web Analytics documentation describes access to the previous six months.

When Cloudflare GraphQL returns a sampleInterval or a partial response, the owner dashboard displays that limitation. Values may therefore be affected by sampling, data delay, account or site plan, and dataset availability. This policy does not assert a separate fixed retention period.
